Join Me in Welcoming Our New Chief Grievance Officer

Armine Javadyan, Executive Board Delegate -Grievance Representative - Trade-Tech

Hi All,

Please join me in welcoming our new Chief Grievance officer, Armine Javadvan. Armine has been the grievance representative for Los Angeles Trade Tech for the last six years. Even though Trade has seen many changes in Campus Presidents, Armine has consistently navigated our members through uncertain and challenging times. One of her key strengths is her ability to organize faculty around deeply and widely felt issues, highlighted by her leadership in preventing over 400 class cuts last year at Trade. She has also trained faculty and administrators in contract application and interpretation areas, developed and facilitated a ‘New Hire Faculty Academy,’ edited the ‘Adjunct Faculty Guide,’ and successfully worked with the college and District leadership. Understanding the importance of organizing, she has worked with the chapter president and CAT team to recruit and train new members to increase member engagement and strength. Her influence on campus and within the guild has been significant, inspiring many with her leadership.

I look forward to working with her on behalf of our members.

In Unity,

A. James McKeever PhD

President, AFT 1521 Faculty Guild
