March in March – On Wednesday March, 7th, hundreds of students and faculty marched in Sacramento to bring back the annual March in March. The March in March began in the early 2000s when California’s budget deficit caused cuts to the education budget. This year’s march, which was organized by a coalition of CFT and CTA Locals, FACCC, the California College Independents, and the Student Senate for California Community Colleges, focused on: Securing Students’ Futures: 1) Affordable and High Quality Higher Education; 2) Affordable Student and Workforce Housing, and 3) Environmental and Climate Justice. AFT 1521 proudly organized more than 150 students and faculty to attend the event. We would like to thank LACCD for endorsing the event and assisting with the costs of our students’ participation.
