Upcoming Action Alert!

Hi All,

During contract negotiations, you showed up in the member room to support our negotiations team! This team effort got us one of the best contracts in our guild’s history.

As you have heard from your Campus Action Teams and guild leadership, we still need help with the implementation of portions of our contract, including adjunct compensation. We bargained pay differentials and other resources for all our faculty regardless of their full or part-time status when it came to dual enrollment courses or additional training required to work off-campus.  Yet, the district has not recognized these differentials for adjunct faculty. We negotiated ancillary pay for adjuncts who take on the additional labor as part of the campus community. We have also had campus cleanliness and safety concerns.

That’s why we’re going to the Board of Trustees next Wednesday, October 9th. We’re telling the Trustees to make the district finish the job and keep their promises. We agreed to differential pay for adjuncts and pay for adjunct department representatives—let’s get it done.

If you can attend or give comments in person, please sign up!    If you can change your Zoom background and join us online or give comments online, please sign up! Your leadership has gotten us this far, and we’ll need your leadership to get this done!

We’re also looking forward to the next legislative session, and a potential fix to AB 1705, which has cut our class offerings and ended the dreams of so many of our students.    Sign up for our upcoming AB 1705 symposium to get more information here!
